A healthy spin on New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp

Featuring one of the most decadent shrimp dishes I have ever had, modified to be lighter, healthier, more figure friendly...but just as delicious!

You won't believe how simple this recipe is!

  • Uncooked shrimp (peeled, de-veined): 1-1.5 lbs

  • Butter: 1 Tbsp

  • Worcestershire sauce: 1/8 cup

  • Garlic cloves: 3

  • Bay leaf: 1

  • Creole seasoning: 1 Tbsp

  • Dried oregano: 1 tsp

  • Paprika: 1 tsp

  • Black pepper: 1 pinch

  • Cayenne pepper: 1/2 tsp

  • Uncooked scallions (thinly sliced): 3 medium

  • Lemon: 1 (thinly sliced)

  • Lemon burst (juice): 5 tsp

  • EVOO: 2 Tbsp

Please check out my tips below before you begin :)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Combine all ingredients EXCEPT shrimp in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat. Taste mixture and add a little salt if needed.

  3. Place shrimp in a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  4. Pour delicious mixture over shrimp.

  5. Bake 15-20 minutes, stirring once (or more).

  6. My friend devoured half the dish without anything on the side, but I eventually combined this with a little brown rice and it was incredible!

  • The lemons are ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and I ate them all. Slice them as thinly as you can and they will melt in your mouth later.

  • Use a Pyrex dish if you can, proudly support Made in USA!

  • Best to use UNSALTED butter if you can.

  • On shrimp, try to avoid anything that is farm raised. Buy as local as possible.

  • Don't forget to de-vein your shrimp! There are tons of videos on how to do this on YouTube.

  • Enjoy!
